Japanese Yakisugi, Sugi and Hinoki — connecting Japan's timber craftsmanship with architecture around the world.

Founded in 1948 in Ehime, Japan, Kyoei Lumber manufactures Yakisugi (Japanese charred cedar), supplies Sugi and Hinoki wood products, and provides structural timber solutions for residential and commercial construction.
Since beginning the factory production of Yakisugi in 1973, we have continued to develop our manufacturing techniques and explore new architectural applications for Japanese timber.
Today, our products and activities extend beyond Japan through international trade, collaboration with architects and local partners, participation in overseas exhibitions, and our Canadian group company, T&H Forest Industries Ltd.
This page brings together selected coverage by independent media, architectural publications, public organizations, and industry associations, as well as records of international projects and exhibitions.

Established in 1996, T&H Forest Industries specializes in sourcing, inspecting and shipping Canadian and North American forest products to international customers.
Its principal products include SPF (Spruce-Pine-Fir), Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, Douglas Fir, Hemlock and other North American species.
